  Principles of Marketing Exam Two Essay Questions  1) What are the four main characteristics of services that make them different from  marketing goods?  The four main characteristics of services that make them different from marketing goods are: intangibility, inseparability, perishes ability and heterogeneity. Service  is intangible because of the fact that services are actions that have no permanent  physical qualities, as opposed to goods, which can be touched and passed over  time. Inseparability of production and consumption because of the fact that the  production of a service cannot be separated from its consumption by the  customer, in other words services are produced, sold and consumed at the same  time. Perish ability because services cannot be produced ahead of time and stored  until needed. Finally the last characteristic it being Heterogeneity, meaning the
