Webroot Inc. has introduced a certification program for its SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection product that’s designed to help the company’s channel partners enhance their ability to sell and support that solution while differentiating themselves from peers.

“With a significant shortage of security expertise in the marketplace, Webroot is committed to providing our partners with the knowledge and tools they need to implement the security solutions today’s IT environment demands,” said Charlie Tomeo, Broomfield, Colo.-based Webroot’s vice president of worldwide business sales, in prepared remarks. “Partners will find they can become more self-sufficient with this certification, which will translate into better results and an increased bottom line.”

The new certification program has dual tracks for sales and technical professionals, both of which provide information on SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection specifically and security market trends generally.

Channel pros who complete either track, a process that Webroot says will take no more than two hours, receive access to supplemental tools and resources including an IP testing tool designed to reduce troubleshooting times. Companies with at least one certified sales employee and one certified technician can also identify themselves to current and prospective customers as Webroot Certified Partners.

Managed services software maker Kaseya Ltd. made SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection an optional add-on for its RMM platform in March. Webroot released a new streaming malware detection solution earlier this month.
